HammerVM Fair Usage Policy

To make this policy easy to understand, let's imagine you have a 100mbps uplink.

Overview

For the 100mbps included networking with our Chicago VPSs, the network usage is governed by our "effectively unmetered" policy, which is straightforward:

Key Points

Monitoring and Notifications

If our staff observes excessive usage, we will check if you have notified us of any planned high traffic. If not, we will reach out via email and other communication methods (e.g., Discord, Telegram, XMPP) to request an explanation and the expected duration of the traffic.

If you cannot provide an expected end date/time or justify the prolonged high traffic, or if you do not respond within approximately 36 hours, your server may be capped to 10mbps until you cooperate or until the next billing cycle begins.

Usage Guidelines

As a general guideline, aim to max out the 100mbps for no more than 72 hours (3 days) per week, spread out in short bursts. This is a suggestion for staying within the fair use policy.

We understand that when you first receive your server, you may need to transfer a significant amount of data. If you anticipate maxing out your 100mbps for more than 24 consecutive hours, please notify us at [email protected] or create a ticket on-site. Let us know the expected duration of the traffic (e.g., "transfer expected to take up to 3 days / 72 hours") to avoid your server being flagged for breaching the fair use policy.

One-Time Transfers

If the traffic is related to a one-time transfer, such as an initial migration to HammerVM, we may offer to temporarily upgrade your networking to a higher speed at no charge, provided that the transfers can be completed in a shorter time due to the increased speed.
